Epiphone Cortez FT-45N 1962 - Natural

A beautiful and very rare 1962 Epiphone Cortez!

The Cortez is basically a Gibson LG-3, X braced small body slope shouldered acoustic which was made in the same Kalamazoo factory alongside Gibson utilizing the same high quality materials.

This Epiphone features a wide nut (42mm), a gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fretboard, a transitional headstock design and Honduran mahogany neck/back and sides.

The guitar has seen many adventures in its lifetime and has had a lot of work professionally done to it over the years including a replaced bridge, repaired top cracks (all super stable now), slight oversprays and a jack is installed possibly from an old sound hole pickup that isn’t with the guitar anymore.

There is also some slight bellying behind the bridge but the guitar is stable

It sounds absolutely fantastic and plays very nicely with low action and a slim 60s neck with very comfy rounded edges.
