Gibson Les Paul Deluxe 54 conversion 1970 - Goldtop
A gorgeous heavily modded Goldtop!
This guitar started its life as an early Les Paul Deluxe with mini humbuckers and a tune o matic bridge setup.
However at some point in it’s life (for reasons completely unknown to us) it’s been Converted to 54’ Specs!
This includes a full refinish with a gorgeous 1950’s style deep Gold nitro top and natural back and sides. The hole for the stoptail was plugged in the process however you can still see signs of where it used to be. The neck binding has been replaced and the dark rosewood fretboard professionally refretted with correct fret nibs on the binding. The Les Paul silkscreen logo is also a more recent replacement. The double line machine heads are original and still work great!
The pickups are Peter Florance Voodoo p90’s which are nowadays highly regarded and sought after, needless to say they sound absolutely amazing! The pots are old central lab with the exception of one replacement (original in the case), the capacitors are also vintage Sprauge black beauty’s. The 3 piece mahogany neck is perfectly rounded and super comfy to play. The small volute has also been reshaped and taken away. The serial number has been restamped and reads 911561.
Overall this is a great old Les paul with alot of vibe and it’s also a very good player! It comes in it’s original late 60’s style Gibson hardcase with purple plush velvet interior.
