Gibson LG-1 1950 Sunburst

Here’s an Awesome piece of Americana!
This 1950 Gibson LG1 is in great shape and although it’s ladder braced, the braces are still finely scalloped in this era and it Sounds absolutely insane! It’s very loud, with a nice booming bass and soaring highs, there’s also some nice overtones to the guitar. The guitar features a Spruce top along with Honduran mahogany back, sides & neck with a beautiful dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The playability is great, action is low, break angle is fine and no need for a neck reset. The frets are original and still in great playing shape. There has been some repairs over the years including the infamous pickguard crack and a few repaired cracks under just under the bridge.  The bridge has ever so slightly been moved for better intonation and the machine heads have been replaced with modern functioning equivalents.
The guitar is in great condition for its age and comes with a very cool story.

This guitar was owned by Martha and Bill who most likely used it on a talent show in 1956 hosted by a Local Iowa Radio station.. it includes Many Songbooks ,sheet music and a hand signed letter from ‘Jerry smith’, also an unopened black diamond guitar String and a vintage ‘Hamilton’ capo! How cool is that?!
