Gretsch Corvette 6132 1961 - Cherry

A beautiful gretsch corvette single pickup solid body from very early on in it’s run.

This guitar is made from top quality lumber including a beautiful honduran mahogany body/neck and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard! The guitar is very light and resonant also easy to play as these gretsches have a very flat fretboard radius. The guitar is all original and the original Hilo tron pickup sounds absolutely awesome!
It’s had one very good modification which was swapping out the original floating bridge for an abr1 style bridge with the posts going directly into the body, this work has been done professionally by our luthier and the original bridge is included in the sale should you like to go back to the original design.

The condition of the guitar is great with some minor play wear and still a very vibrant trans red finish with a beautiful wood grain shining through.
There is some wear on the upper horn of the body probably from the original case and an extra hole on the bottom of the body probably from an old strap pin. There are also some for inlays on the fretboard that have gently sunken in as is common with these old gretschLes but this does affect playability at all.

Comes in an old black hardcase which is not original to the guitar but works great for it!​
