Martin 5-18 1958 - Natural

A beautiful 1958 Martin 5-18 terz guitar!

These tiny Martins are really great! This one features mahogany back & sides, spruce top and a gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The guitar is X Braced and fully original with no major repairs or modifications.

The sound is absolutely fantastic and the playability is very nice with a low action.

It looks to have been professionally refretted at some point. There is a tiny little stress crack next to the pick guard as is commonly seen on Martins from this era (this is also the only crack on this guitar ).

Also a shim has been added to the original nut and it looks to have some tiny glue residue that you can see in the light. The bridge appears to have had a tiny little bit of material shaved off near the saddle.

Overall the guitar is in great playing and aesthetic condition with beautiful weather checking all throughout. There is a lovely old picture of a lady inside the sound hole, this could’ve been the original owner as the case is labeled ‘Marina Cretta’ and this Martin apparently belonged to a bouzouki singer in Greece back in the day. The original case is included but is not in very good shape as the top is not attached to the case anymore although we do have a modern tkl hardcase that works great for this guitar!
